NFC Tags
Discover how NFC tags streamline location tracking in mobohubb, simplifying on-the-go data collection and checkpoint management.
Definition
NFC (Near Field Communication) tags are small, passive electronic devices that store and transmit information wirelessly over short distances—typically just a few centimeters. Each tag contains a microchip and an antenna, enabling communication with NFC-enabled devices (such as smartphones or tablets) when they are in close proximity.
Note: NFC tags come with a factory-set ID that cannot be changed within mobohubb. If you need to modify this ID, you must use a different tool. In mobohubb, we read the factory ID and assign a custom name to facilitate its identification on the platform.
Using NFC Tags in mobohubb
-
Create or Update an NFC Tag: Treat your NFC tag as a scan point within mobohubb. Assign it a sequence or unique identifier (e.g., Location001, Location016) that aligns with your organization's numbering system. The factory ID can not be changed.
-
Configure Unassigned Tags: If you have NFC tags that are not yet configured, simply scan them using the mobohubb mobile app. Then, edit the scan point’s name, description, and any other necessary details in the portal to ensure it is easily identifiable.
Example:
Scan-Point ID: Location016 Description: Lobby Entrance Tag Coordinates: Optional, if adding a GPS-based task
